Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing (ACON) 2023–2024 115 Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) • satisfactorily complete the program requirements for the degree, including all required courses • attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, with no course with a grade lower than B applied toward the degree • satisfactorily meet all financial and library obligations • satisfactorily complete D.N.P. project • satisfactorily complete application for graduation (attendance at the graduation ceremony is expected and encouraged by the department, and attendance is required at the commencement program for students with a clinical component) • complete the program within five years Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nursing with a Focus on Nursing Education or Administrative Leadership • satisfactorily complete the program requirements for the degree, including all required courses • attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, with no course with a grade lower than B applied toward the degree • satisfactorily meet all financial and library obligations • satisfactorily complete dissertation • satisfactorily complete application for graduation (attendance at the graduation ceremony is expected and encouraged by the department) • complete the program within 10 years Graduation with Honors—Diploma Graduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.8, or higher, will receive a diploma inscribed with Highest Honors. Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 to 3.79 will receive a diploma inscribed with Honors. Students should refer to their program-specific sections of this handbook for variations on these criteria. For undergraduate students, Latin Honors are awarded based on students’ cumulative GPA once all final grades have been entered after their graduation term. To be eligible for these honors, a student must also have 56 graded credit hours of NSU courses. The GPA requirements to graduate with Latin honors are as follows: 1. cum laude (3.80–3.89) 2. magna cum laude (3.90–3.96) 3. summa cum laude (3.97–4.0) The honors level (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) will also be reflected on the student’s diploma and official transcript.
