In these workshop sessions, students will learn about topics and procedures that are typical and appropriate for the FSE dissertation in that particular concentration area. Examples of recent studies will be presented. Also, suggestions for extensions of current research will be discussed. See “Part Four” for session times and locations. Concentration areas will be grouped as follows: Educational Leadership Health Care Education, Human Services Administration, and Nursing Education Higher Education Leadership (English and Español) Instructional Leadership (English and Español) Instructional Technology and Distance Education (English and Español) Organizational Leadership (English and Español) Reading Special Education Speech-Language Pathology Debt Management Money Matters: What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You This session will provide tools and tips to assist students with minimizing their student loan debt and guarding against default. In addition, this session will address the current climate of the economy and how this can affect financial aid eligibility. The sessions will be held on Sunday, July 14, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Fantasia Ballroom E–F and Wednesday, July 17, from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. in Pastoral 3. Dissertations of Distinction Presentations The 2012 Dissertation of Distinction Award winners and their dissertation chairs will discuss the process they used to develop a successful dissertation. In addition, these presentations will include time management tips, an overview of the research approach, and the key elements to building a productive professional relationship between student and chair. These presentations are offered on Sunday, July 14, at times and locations indicated in the daily schedule. Doctoral Program Individual Counseling FSE doctoral enrollment counselors will be available at the conference to meet with students and discuss various issues related to the doctoral program on Sunday through Wednesday in rooms and at times indicated in the daily schedule.
