These question-and-answer group sessions will be offered on Monday, July 15, at times and locations indicated in the daily schedule. International Spanish-Speaking Doctoral Students’ Sessions (en Español) FSE is proud to once again welcome the international Spanish-speaking doctoral students to the summer conference. This year’s conference has many changes that we hope will help you as you move forward in your program. Sessions that provide detailed insights into each part of the dissertation process as well as expert presenters have been carefully selected. Your schedule mirrors the sessions being offered in English. *All international English-speaking students should follow the general schedule. Library Sessions Reference librarians from the NSU and FSE’s distance and instructional library services will conduct sessions to answer questions about literature reviews, the best databases to use, and how to access full-text articles online. They will help students with online document delivery requests, requesting journal articles, dissertations, educational documents, instruction on how to obtain hard-to-find materials online, and consulting with the reference librarian. The librarians will be available for hands-on, one-on-one individual library research assistance during some computer open lab hours as indicated in the daily schedule. Some topics, as indicated, are offered in Spanish for the international doctoral students. Specific session topics presented at the conference will include the following: Citing Sources in APA (English and Español) EndNote Finding Tests and Instruments Formatting the Dissertation in APA Style (English and Español) Identifying Methodologies and Landmark Studies Individual Library Research Assistance (English and Español) Library Research Refresher Meetings with Applied Dissertation Chairs* One of the highlights of the summer conference is the one-on-one meeting that each student has with his or her dissertation committee chair. With much of the doctoral program being online, these face-to-face meetings give students the opportunity to develop a rapport with the person with whom they will be working throughout the dissertation process. The student and chair will work on content-related aspects of the dissertation. These meetings are scheduled in advance by dissertation committee chairs and will convene on Tuesday and Wednesday at times indicated in the daily schedule in Ballroom of the Americas A and Fantasia Ballroom H–J. Appointments will be scheduled in 60-minute intervals. *You must have a prearranged appointment if you wish to speak with your dissertation chair. Part One: Conference Announcements
