7 Student Government Association The Student Government Association will be in attendance at the 2013 summer conference. Members of the association serve as leaders within the field of education, within the classroom, and within the community at large. They serve as the voice of the Fischler School’s graduate student body and work with faculty and staff members to provide feedback and recommendations so that students have a rewarding experience at NSU. Transportation A floor plan of the Disney Contemporary Resort is included in the back of this book for your convenience. Buses will depart from the Disney Contemporary Resort (West Rotunda), Disney Polynesian Resort (Main Entrance), and Disney Coronado Springs Resort (Main Entrance of the Convention Center), and Disney Grand Floridian Resort and Spa (Main Entrance), each morning at 6:30 a.m. (except Sunday when they will run continuously all day from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.). Buses leaving the Polynesian, Coronado Springs , and Grand Floridian Resorts will go to the Contemporary Resort. Monday through Thursday, the last bus will depart from these resorts for the Contemporary at 7:30 a.m. Bus service will resume in the evening at 5:00 p.m. and the last bus departs from the Contemporary at 10:00 p.m. You must wear your conference name badge to board the buses. PRESENTATIONS AND WORKSHOPS Applied Research Group Workshops (Groups A–N) There are three applied research sessions: Problem Statement Workshop, Literature Review Workshop, and Research Questions and Purpose Statement Workshop. These sessions are designed to offer information and guidance in key areas that are crucial to the completion of a successful dissertation. Students will follow a customized applied research session schedule. Group assignments will be provided to all students at the time of registration at the conference site. These sessions are offered on Tuesday and Wednesday at times and in rooms indicated in the daily schedule. Applied Research Sessions The Applied Research Center (ARC) will conduct a number of informative workshops designed to assist you through the applied dissertation process. The workshops are offered Sunday, July 14, through Thursday, July 18, at the Disney Contemporary Resort. See “Part Three” for session times and locations. Some topics, as indicated, are offered in Spanish for the international doctoral students.
