Global Leadership, Learning, and Research-Program 2013

6 Latin American University Presidents The Abraham S. Fischler School of Education is offering the second annual seminar for Latin American university presidents. The seminar centers on two critical topics: the global concern of accreditation of higher education institutions and the establishment of a philanthropy/development office for higher education. It offers a forum for presidents of universities from Latin America to hear experts’ presentations on the processes involved in applying for accreditation of a university and the infrastructure required for such accreditation. The second topic, the establishment of a philanthropy/development office, will deal with boosting philanthropic commitment, strategically focusing on fund-raising efforts, and tailoring fund-raising solutions to the specific needs of each institution ranging from alumni campaigns to endowments. University presidents from the following countries are attending this important seminar: Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru.
