Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy researcher Anastasios Lymperopoulos, Ph.D., is working to develop new and innovative drugs that inhibit a protein in the body responsible for heart failure because of the adverse actions of hormones such as adrenaline, angiotensin, and aldosterone.* Falls among the elderly are a major public health concern, and NSU Health Professions Division researcher Patrick Hardigan, Ph.D., has created an algorithm that accurately predicts the likelihood of falling . NSU’s Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research, led by executive director Appu Rathinavelu, Ph.D., is conducting research on new cancer therapeutics for breast, lung, prostate, ovarian, and colorectal cancers .
