Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center Campaign Priorities

POTENTIAL IS REALIZED HERE Through a unique agreement with the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center serves county residents, professionals, and students as well as the university community. Stunningly modern and visually rich, our library inspires, engages, and delights visitors at the same time it offers full collections of research materials, specialized databases, popular fiction and nonfiction books, magazines and journals, a variety of digital materials, CDs, and DVDs. Tour our library, and you will see several permanent works of art, including a one-of- a-kind creation by famed glass artist Dale Chihuly, and a hand-forged Buddhist Prayer Wheel blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. You’ll also find cozy reading niches, 24 study rooms, including a 75-seat collaborative study room, 1,000 user seats, wireless internet service, and a café. Our calendar is bursting with events and special programs for children, teens, and adults. We have book discussion groups, author readings, performances, research tool classes, a genealogy club, and much more. Most importantly, you will find a professional library staff attuned and ready to serve your needs. The challenge is that demand for resources, literacy aid, and learning spaces exceeds what we currently are able to meet. With your support, the Alvin Sherman Library can continue to serve as a premier research, cultural, and lifelong learning hub for NSU and the community. Please join us in Realizing Potential.
