$4million for tobacco cessation $5 million for veteran services $2.9million for underrepresented students in computer science $7.75 million in emergency relief The Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine received several COVID-19-related grants geared toward safety training for the maritime community and limiting the spread of COVID-19 among aging populations. And the Florida Department of Health (DOH) allocated nearly $4 million to the college’s Area Health Education Center, headed by Steven Zucker, D.M.D., to help deliver effective tobacco use treatment and cessation services across the region. The DOH also awarded NSU’s Division of Clinical Operations a $5-million award to operate a Veterans Access Clinic and promote health care access for veterans and their families in need of services.
