2023 NSU Fact Book

6 NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY Dear Friends of NSU, Although the last few years have been challenging for everyone, I am pleased to report that Nova Southeastern University is thriving. Our Tampa Bay Regional Campus is now home to the newly expanded NSU Drs. Kiran & Pallavi Patel International Dental Program. This program, operating in a state-of-the-art clinic space with a fully digitized curriculum, will allow internationally trained dentists to earn U.S. dental degrees in 39 months, qualify for licensure, and begin practicing in this country. In fall 2022, NSU began the development of a multiphase plan for strategic capital investments supporting the health professions, including a state-of-the-art, interprofessional simulation complex (SimCom) currently under design. With progressive tools and immersive techniques in health care, the future complex is anticipated to play a key role in further advancing NSU’s health and medical education, research, and patient care. The SimCom will be a hospital without patients that is open to all NSU students across all campuses, but it will also be open to physicians and health care companies across South Florida. It will create exciting educational opportunities for all members of the NSU community and prepare our graduates by using tomorrow’s technology today. In addition, we welcomed our largest-ever, incoming undergraduate class in fall 2022. It’s clear that the next generation of doctors, nurses, engineers, business leaders, psychologists, lawyers, educators, artists, and more all want to start their careers with an exceptional NSU education. Our achievements have not gone unnoticed. NSU has reached the top half in the college rankings compiled by U.S. News & World Report. The more we all achieve, the more the world will come to recognize that NSU is growing into a preeminent institution that gives students the edge they need to be successful in their careers. The NSU Shark family has accomplished much in the last year, but there is so much more ahead of us. Sharks always keep swimming forward! Fins Up! George L.
