The long outdated WebCT 4.1 Learning Management
System (LMS) will soon be phased out at NSU. After nearly
10 years of using WebCT online components in over 61,680
courses, WebCT will no longer be part of the learning manage-
ment system equation. Blackboard will be fully adopted by the
Fall of 2012.
Since the Spring of 2010, our faculty and students have
toggled between “Black-CT”, with OI
2
T running dual learning
management systems and taking on the challenges of a new
system. In November of 2011, OI
2
T received permission to
move forward with a final phase out plan of WebCT. Towards
that end, NSU began implementing its final migration journey in
January of 2012, with the IZone preparing approximately 1500
courses for migration to Blackboard 9.1. Let’s face it….change
is hard! Fully upgrading to Blackboard 9.1 at NSU is a major
step in the right direction!
