The
dust is finally set-
tling on the WebCT
migration project, a
major event that took NSU from WebCT
4.1
to Blackboard 9.1SP4. With most
faculty members and students having
acclimated themselves to the Black-
board Learn environment, our ongoing
innovative journey will soon take us to
a new Managed Hosting environment
to improve system performance and
stability. At the same time, there are
new changes on the horizon for the next
version, Blackboard’s SP8 interface, fea-
tures, and overall functionality. Simply
put, upgrades are part of every software
program and are intended to provide
new functionality based on instructor and
student feedback. In January 2013,
NSU faculty members and students will
have the opportunity to experience the
latest release of the Blackboard Aca-
demic Suite including the following
enhancements.
Blackboard Academic Suite

builds on the student engagement
tools in earlier releases

improves the performance of the
software
•
enhances the entire user interface to
make it easier to use, more intuitive,
and extends drag and drop simplicity
along with context sensitive menus.
