American College of Sports Medicine

The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), founded in 1954, promotes and integrates scientific research, education, and practical applications of sports medicine and exercise science to maintain and enhance physical performance, fitness, health, and quality of life. The ACSM is the largest sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world.

National Athletic Trainers Association

The National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) was founded in 1950 and has over 27,000 allied health care professionals world wide. NATA advances the athletic training profession through education and research in the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of injuries. It publishes Journal of Athletic Training and is the accrediting agency for approximately 198 athletic training education programs.
