Presentation by Martha Ibañez Zervoudakis, founding Director and webmaster for the Cuban Genealogy Club of Miami, Fl., Inc.

Learn the Genealogical Proof Standard and discover how to evaluate genealogical sources, the information within and the evidence used to solve genealogical problems. Presented By Tamara Hallo, MLS, Professional Genealogist. The program starts at 2 pm in room 4009 at the NSU Alvin Sherman Library.

The Genealogical Society of Broward County (GSBC) meets monthly at the NSU Alvin Sherman Library on the first Sunday of every month except on holidays. All meetings are free and open to the public. Parking $1.00/hour on the first level of the parking garage.

Foundations and Grants Workshop

Learn to use the Foundation Center’s grants database, get an overview of the Alvin Sherman Library’s grants resources, and participate in an assisted open lab search session to explore grant possibilities specific to their area of interest. Basic computer skills are required.

Holiday Drop In Craft

Stop by for festive winter-time crafts at the Alvin Sherman Library. Create a card for a friend or family member. Decorate cards for family and friends or learn how to make creative, inexpensive winter crafts incorporating everyday materials to celebrate the holiday season, including Chanukah, Christmas and Kwanzaa.
