Welcome to 2015! We trust you and your family had an enjoyable holiday season. Now is the time to get back into the swing of things!
This month, the Alvin Sherman Library will again offer a host of programs and events for every age group. In addition, each month we feature databases available to you from your home or office computer. As a joint-use facility, you are able to access information otherwise available only to our university family.

Wags & Tales: Read to a Dog! (Ages 5-12)

Wags & Tales enables children to have fun reading an age-appropriate short story to an Animal Assisted Therapy Dog. The intent of the program is to make reading fun and boost the child’s confidence in reading out loud. Offered in partnership with the Humane Society of Broward County. Genealogical Society of Broward County Program Monthly Meeting
Sunday, January 11: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
The Genealogical Society of Broward County meets monthly at the NSU Alvin Sherman Library on the first Sunday of every month. Meetings begin with an open lab from noon to 2 pm. The open lab is followed by a board meeting and program.
Meetings are open to the public.

English Heraldry Workshop

2015 marks the 800th anniversary of the Magna Charta and the 25 Barons - all of whom left their mark on future generations through their heraldic bearings. Join Maureen McGowan Singer and Carol Sutton from the National Society Colonial Dames 17th Century for a workshop that will cover methods for tracing your lineage back to its origins.
