DILS librarians offer
instruction on how to use library services and resources, both at the Alvin
Sherman Library and at NSU meeting sites.
Group
Library Training
Cluster coordinators,
site administrators or faculty members may arrange a training session for
students. Training sessions may be conducted at any NSU meeting location. These
sessions
are generally held during the normal class schedule and emphasize research
methods and research paper assignments. Students receive a detailed overview
of materials that are useful for their class projects and assignments.

Individual
Library Training
Librarians are available to provide individual library training and/or research
consultations at the Alvin Sherman Library (Main Campus). Complete an Individual
Library Training Signup Form or stop by the Reference Desk to schedule
an appointment. Distance students may schedule an appointment for a
phone consultation using the same Signup Form.
After receiving a training session, you will be asked to fill out an evaluation
form.
Workshops
Hands-on workshops are scheduled on a regular basis at the Alvin Sherman
Library. Workshops cover such topics as: APA style, Finding dissertations,
Finding empirical research, Tests and measurements, and Web searching. See Workshop
