Jeff Hartman is the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Research Experiences and Coordinator of the Razor’s Edge Research Scholars Program. He identifies and coordinates opportunities where students can learn and engage in enriching experiences outside of the classroom, including research internships, workshops, panel discussions, and site visits focusing on scientific investigation. Jeff is also an adjunct faculty member for the First Year Experience program.
Jeff’s career started in Michigan, where he worked over thirteen years at a community college. There, he advised international students as the college’s Primary Designated School Official, developed programming for first-generation college students, and managed outreach and recruitment as the director of the Office of Admissions.
He later worked in Washington, D.C. as a senior program officer in the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education. Prior to joining NSU, he worked in the national capital region for the National Institutes of Health, where he administered a portfolio of research grants. Altogether, Jeff has over twenty years of professional experience in higher education and student affairs and five years of experience managing federal grant funds.
He earned Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Central Michigan University and a Master’s of Science in Psychology from Capella University.
