As primary care providers, optometrists are presented with a number of challenging diagnostic dilemmas. The program will help you to increase your comfort level and update your knowledge base to incorporate all treatments into your practice. This meeting starts on Thursday evening after a light dinner with two hours of CE and will continue on Friday with a full day of CE, which will include an extended break around lunchtime for participants to explore the French Quarter. We will have a similar schedule on Saturday with a slightly shorter lunch hour. Speakers in- clude Drs. Joe Sowka, Alan Kabat, Kim Reed, and Mike Bacigalupi. The CE hours will be COPE approved, and 14 of the hours will be approved by the Florida Board of Optometry for transcript-qual- ity credit. This meeting will update attendees in all areas of primary care optometry, pedi- atrics, contact lenses, and therapeutic management of commonly seen condi- tions. Set on the beach at St. Simons Is- land, Georgia, the schedule will allow for ample recreational time at low tide when the beach is at its best. Saturday morning will be set aside for golf and recreation. We will have a few hours of CE late Satur- day afternoon followed by a dinner. Sun- day will be a full day of CE, followed on Monday morning with a half-day session. The event will offer 16 hours of CE with 10 of the hours approved by the Florida Board of Optometry for transcript-quality education credit. The King and Prince Resort has plenty of amenities to keep the whole family enter- tained, while the charming and historic Village of St. Simons offers numerous sightseeing opportunities, including an interesting tour of a working lighthouse. Friday will include a full day of courses, with the morning being devoted to practice management and the after- noon to the Florida Board of Optometry required courses. The courses on Satur- day and Sunday will continue with inter- esting speakers both from our faculty and around the country. We will be honoring the class of 2001, and mem- bers of the class will receive compli- mentary registration and a banquet ticket for Saturday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
