Nova Southeastern University has distinguished itself by its innovative and unique educational programs. One of the university’s primary goals is to provide a lifelong continuum of educational opportunities that promote individual growth and development. NSU University School represents the fulfillment of this goal for children from junior- kindergarten through high school. NSU University School is organized by clustering appropriate grade levels together into the Lower, Middle, and Upper School divisions. An administrative staff headed by a division director manages each of these entities. The head of school, whose staff includes the three division directors and two associate heads of school, is responsible for the overall operation. As a not-for-profit corporation, NSU University School relies on the local community and its own families for financial support with its annual fund-raising program. The Development Office, in conjunction with volunteer organizations within the school, operates an Annual Fund and several fund-raising events each year. Families whose children attend the school are expected to support these development programs. To facilitate educational programs that complement, and are in harmony with, each child’s abilities and interests, the school has developed an educational framework within which a student can work toward his or her highest potential. In an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect, a student at NSU University School increases self- awareness, develops independence, and accepts responsibility for his or her own actions in liaison with the school staff and administration and with peers. The effectiveness of the teaching/learning process is dependent on a professional and collaborative relationship among student, teacher, and parent. Much can be accomplished by the school when students and parents work cooperatively with us as a team, making decisions in the best interest of the child. Your trust and support are important to us and vital to your child’s continued growth and progress. Additionally, a positive partnership, marked by courtesy, warmth, and openness should be expected by faculty members and parents alike.
