9 WORK HOURS Faculty and staff must adhere to the established workday hours according to the expectations of their supervisor/manager within each NSU University School department, work unit or academic division and according to their employment position needs. NSU University School buildings and faculties must remain open and accessible in person and by phone contact during all days when NSU is in session. On occasions when NSU University School has a major event, divisional plans for phones and building coverage have been designed. Attendance and Punctuality: all faculty and staff are expected to be punctual for all work- related events, duties, assignments and tasks. Preparedness for all instructional and non- instructional tasks is a basic responsibility. Arriving late to work or assigned duties and job functions is not permitted. Report daily absences no later than 7:00am. LEAVING THE CAMPUS Avoid leaving the campus during the student attendance hours. If an employee does leave campus during lunch, s/he must sign out and back in again on the daily attendance sheet, and return to school before their next scheduled task, duty or class period. If an employee needs to leave during assigned teaching or duty period, or times other than lunch, s/he must discuss this request with the appropriate supervisor. Time away from school will be reported on NSU reporting forms as needed. CELLULAR TELEPHONE USE Faculty and staff members may not use cell phones for personal (not school related) use during work hours. All cell phones should be in silent mode when faculty and staff are on duty during working hours. RECORDING OF CLASSES Students with a qualifying need, granted through written request to the Director, may benefit from and be permitted to audio/video record class instruction Class Instruction means lecture notes, outlines, slides, instructional activities, Powerpoint presentations, readings, or other content made available to students by the instructor or presenter, or through any NSU University School online learning system. Recording means a video or audio replication or photographic image recorded on devices including, but not limited to, audio recorders, video recorders, cell phones, Smartphones, digital cameras, media players, computers, Live Scribes or any other devices that record images and/or sound, still or animated.
