18 should be carefully monitored in order to prevent waste. Large quantities of materials should be labeled clearly and given to the associate director to delegate photocopying. A minimum of two days is needed for preparing and returning. COPYRIGHT POLICY All employees are expected to know and obey the copyright law. Please see appendix for both NSU University School policy and Federal Law. USE OF UNIVERSITY MAIL SERVICES The University/NSU University School addresses may not be used for personal use, such as an address for bank accounts, driver’s license, telephone bills, credit cards, etc. SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS The safety and protection of students is a priority for all members of the staff. All faculty and staff members have responsibility for the supervision of students in their classes, around the school, during the lunch hour, and before and after school. It is expected that teachers will respond to inappropriate behaviors outside their classrooms including supervising students during transitional time. Specific duty schedules will be developed and shared with faculty and staff so that supervision is consistent at critical places and times. See Appendix N for specific playground supervision expectations. 1. All employees responsible for supervision of students and student activities are to take precautions to protect the life, health, and safety of every student. Safeguards to reduce or eliminate accidents and injuries should be in place at all times. Any accident or injury should be reported to the administration immediately. The supervising adult must complete student accident report within 24 hours. 2. Students must be supervised by designated school personnel at all times throughout the school day and at all pre-approved school events. Teachers should avoid meeting alone with individual students; when this does occur, the classroom door should remain open at all times and the teacher and student should be in clear site of the open doorway. 3. In instances where a teacher must leave his/her assigned students, the teacher must make provisions for supervision by designated school personnel prior to leaving the room. 4. Respond to any inappropriate student’s behavior seen or heard outside of classrooms.
