10 1. All class members (instructors, students, guests) are informed in advance of the recording; 2. The recording of class instruction must not cause disruption to the instructional process in the class; 3. Recordings of the class instruction are only for the student’s personal scholastic use in study and preparation related to class; 4. The student may not share any recorded class instruction with any other person, whether or not that person is in his/her class; 5. The student acknowledges that the recordings are sources, the use of which in any academic work is governed by rules or academic conduct at NSU University School and as articulated within the overall Student/Parent Handbook; 6. The student agrees to destroy the recordings that were made when they are no longer needed for his/her academic work; 7. Any other use of recordings constitutes academic misconduct, Level 1, and may result in consequences as stated in the Discipline Code. SOCIAL NETWORKING Social Media can be defined as any electronic tool allowing for social and connective communication, including but not limited to: Video and photo sharing (YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo), Social networking (Facebook, Instagram, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn), Blogging, Personal websites, Wikis, Instant messaging, Use of Short Message Service (texting), and Web conferencing (Skype). The School respects the right of employees to use social media. However, employees should exercise care in setting appropriate boundaries between their personal and public online behavior, understanding that what is private in the digital world often has the possibility of becoming public, even without their knowledge or consent. The School strongly encourages all employees to carefully review the privacy settings on any social media and networking sites they use, and exercise care and good judgment when posting content and information on such sites. The following guidelines, as well as the School’s workplace policies on harassment, student relationships, conduct, professional communication and confidentiality, apply to activities online. Any conduct that adversely affects employee job performance, the performance of fellow employees or otherwise adversely affects students or their families may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. 1. NSU policies compel all NSU/NSU University School employees to communicate with constituents (parents, students, faculty and staff) ONLY via authorized NSU/NSU University School communication sites. In translation, this means: a.Employees cannot use personal devices, email, phones, etc. or any other venue to communicate directly with any NSU University School students or parents since the nature of the relationships with these constituents is strictly business related and of business/client origins, any and all contact would have business bases (not personal or otherwise). However, employees can use personal devices and phones to communicate via authorized NSU/NSU
