On-Campus Housing and Dining All incoming students are required to live on campus unless one or more of the following criteria applies: • You have earned more than 48 college credit hours after completing high school • You are married or in a domestic partnership • You reside with a parent or legal guardian within the tri-county area (Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach counties) • You are a veteran or active United States military personnel • For disciplinary or administrative reasons, you may be denied the privilege of residing on campus Submitting the Housing Application and Housing Deposit 1. Access the housing application at nova.edu/housing – search for the “Apply Now!” button under “Apply for Housing” 2. Begin the housing application with your NSU ID (also known as your N#) and your date-of-birth 3. Carefully read through each step – be prepared to submit a $500 housing deposit upon submission of your housing application 4. Once you submit your housing application and $500 housing deposit, you should receive a confirmation to your NSU email saying that your application was completed. Within a few business days, you will receive additional follow-up communication from campus housing with instructions to begin your room selection and/or room preference process. Move-In Incoming students who are part of Razor’s Edge Scholars, The Fischler Academy, and the Huizenga Business Innovation Academy will move in to the residence halls on Monday, August 12. All other students can move in on Wednesday, August 14; Thursday, August 15; or Friday, August 16, however it is recommended all first- year students move in on Wednesday, August 14, as First-Year and Freshman Orientation occurs on Thursday, August 15 and Friday, August 16. For all students living on campus, please ensure your NSU outstanding charges (tuition, fees, housing, etc.) have been taken care of before moving in. This is required to receive the keys to your room at housing check-in. Please see pages 8-10 for more information on bills and payments. Parking and Vehicle Registration First-year and transfer students are allowed to have a registered vehicle on campus. After move-in, you must obtain an NSU Parking Permit at the One-Stop Shop located in the Horvitz Administration Building. Read more about NSU parking policies at nova.edu/publicsafety/parking/permits. Campus Dining at NSU Resident and commuter students, alike, enjoy a variety of healthy dining options around campus. Meal plans are offered as a declining balance, which provides you flexibility to enjoy a meal or a snack when and where it’s convenient for you. The main dining area in the University Center offers an all-you-care- to-eat variety of cuisine with vegetarian and vegan options offered daily. For snacks or something different, you can use your declining balance at the 24-hour Starbucks, Outtakes Convenience Store, Flight Deck Pub, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and West End Ave Deli found throughout campus. You can also use your declining balance at the HPD Café located in the Terry Building on the Health Professions Division side of campus. 5
