USGA is dedicated to upholding NSU’s eight core values and facilitates student-driven change, allowing students to play an active role in their experience at NSU. Palm Beach Student Government Association—NSU Palm Beach Campus Palm Beach Regional Student Government is a group of student leaders who advocates for its fellow students on campus-related concerns. The most rewarding aspect of being a member of this organization is being the voice of the students. Their student leaders come from different academic disciplines dedicated to providing a safe space for all students. The group focuses on NSU’s Core Values of Academic Excellence and being Student-Centered; demonstrating Diversity and Opportunity by celebrating heritage through cultural events and continually bringing awareness to different causes; and having Community, Innovation, and Integrity rooted deeply in the day-to-day operations. Student leaders work tirelessly to boost student morale and involvement, even in the light of the pandemic, knowing that anything can be achieved through hard work and dedication. Student Bar Association—Shepard Broad College of Law The Student Bar Association adapted to advocating remotely for the student body at the Shepard Broad College of Law to support students and promote engagement amongst students and organizations on campus so as to not lose the invaluable relationships and connections that come with being a law student at NSU. The organization has maintained a voice for students during the pandemic. This included contributions to orientation efforts by participating in student panels and in-person events on campus for admitted students; provision of free, professional headshots for students; and active participation in the interview process for the selection of the new dean. The SBA also organized panel events including a discussion regarding Derek Chauvin’s charges and an event with the 17th Judicial Circuit and Broward County Women’s Association for alumni and students.
