IN SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY PROGRAM OVERVIEW NSU’s Master of Science (M.S.) in Speech-Language Pathology Program focuses on training speech-language pathologists to provide a full range of services to clients with communication disorders in a variety of settings. It provides scientifically based academic and clinical curricula to foster critical thinking and application of best practices. Did You Know? Course content is research based and prepares the student to meet the requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) awarded by the American Speech- Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). M.S. IN SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY COURSE OF STUDY This M.S. program operates year-round and is divided into three semesters—fall, winter, and summer, with on-site coursework available at many of our regional campuses throughout Florida. By holding classes in the evenings, this program allows students to complete the majority of their degree while working. Online coursework for the program is available for students who live beyond 50 miles from our Fort Lauderdale/Davie, Miami, Palm Beach, Orlando, Jacksonville, Fort Myers, or Tampa Bay Regional campuses. This option allows students to both receive instruc- tion and interact with classmates and professors online. At times, certain courses are available as a hybrid of the site-based and distance- learning options, with students taking a portion of the course in a face-to-face format over a weekend, then completing the remainder of the course online. Some classes are delivered in a week-long format within the winter semester. Clinical and externship experiences are held during the weekdays, with occasional Saturday or evening opportunities. Students should plan to devote full-time participa- tion to two externship experiences.
