NSU President's Report | 2020

PRESIDENT’S REPORT 2020 meet their needs as the semester unfolds. To pave the path for the new strategy, the Educational Technologies and Digital Media division of NSU’s Office of Academic Affairs provided some 1,700 faculty members with expert training on how to use newly adopted applications. The Office of Innovation and Information Technology acquired and installed the necessary equipment and applications to overhaul more than 700 classrooms across all campuses to make them BlendFlex-ready. Client Support Services modified its functions to help faculty members not only with the technology on campus, but also with technological challenges remotely. Vital and timely information was delivered to students and to faculty and staff members through regular communications and NSU-wide signage emphasizing safety protocols. Facilities Management ramped up sanitizing surfaces throughout the campuses and making spaces safer through distancing measures, installing plexiglass, using temperature scanners at the clinics, and using ionic foggers to deep clean common areas. Business Services transformed such student necessities as mail management and dining, and Student Housing transitioned to a single resident room model. “Sometimes, the best of things happen in the midst of the worst,” said Diane Lippe, executive director of Educational Technologies and Digital Media. “The BlendFlex model promotes engagement between the student and the instructor. Having that student choice positions the university for the future. For NSU, BlendFlex spotlights our ability to provide the best education and best learning experience possible.” 7 n ova.edu/coron avirus Be a Smart Shark. DON’T FEEL WELL? STAY HOME.
