April 13, 2011: Program received institutional approval. Continuation of program design, physical space refinement and furnishing occupational therapy office suites conference rooms, laboratories to include functional activities, developmental, and activities of daily living laboratories. Recommended to label Rooms 3055 and 3045 with generic Inpatient and Outpatient, rather than DPT laboratories. June, 2011: Dr. Carrasco received appointment as Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy, Tampa; Dr. Davenport joined the program from a research position, and receives mentorship in curricu- lum design and in preparing the application for developing program status; also on matters of student re- cruitment, admissions and marketing, and in laying the groundwork for fieldwork education. The team produced the initial versions of recruitment brochures, admission criteria and process, refined philosophi- cal, vision and mission statements, teaching exemplar, curriculum model and faculty applications, and em- ployee orientation. September, 2011: NSU Tampa, CHCS Department of Occupational Therapy, Tampa submitted applica- tion to ACOTE; started screening faculty applicants; inaugural issue of OTDNews. December, 2011: ACOTE granted Developing Program status to NSU Tampa; started hiring process; re- fined admissions process and interview protocol. January, 2012: NSU Tampa employed Drs. Whaley and Pallister; Professor Longpré hired for April start with administrative responsibilities in clinical education and supervised teaching. Program started accept- ing Inaugural Class of 2015; and the self-study process that includes institutional and consultant reviews prior to submission to ACOTE. Timeline was based on ACOTE provided guidelines; sections of FreeMind software blended strategic plan with faculty departmental responsibilities for Tuesday meeting documentation: Administrative, Dr. Carrasco; Clinical & Community Relations, Prof. Longpré; Curricu- lum Affairs, Dr. Whaley; Student & Marketing Affairs, Dr. Pallister; Research & Technology, Dr. Daven- port. February, 2012: Started internal review by VP for Academic Affairs 5 weeks before ACOTE submission; faculty reviewed curriculum and philosophical foundations for their content areas; as Curriculum Affairs Director, Dr. Whaley appointed to head the self-study task force; scheduled Tuesday afternoon for self- study meetings (aka curriculum meetings); reviewed ACOTE manual. Charlotte Burden started as Field- work Support Coordinator. March, 2012: Karla M. Quiñones joined the program as Administrative Assistant. April, 2012: Professor Longpré took over the administration of fieldwork education and doctoral resi- dency. All faculty documents dropped into shared drive for accreditation self-study. May, 2012: Implementation and evaluation of inaugural class orientation; Class of 2015 started their first semester; Activation of Committee on Student Progress. Launched Summer courses while collaborating with Basis Science faculty and DPT program on Anatomy course; ongoing monitoring of course delivery and gathering faculty and student feedback July 2012: Karla M. Quiñones is promoted to Program Support Coordinator. October, 2012: Department retreat, strategic plan SCOT analysis & update, analysis of student perfor- mance and feedback; begin analysis of collected data including updated iterations of course syllabi tem- plate to conform with institutional change in grading system and the revision of research sequence and specialized courses; Natalia Ospina takes over as Fieldwork Support Coordinator.
