Longpré, MOT, OTR/L State and National Conferences The Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at Nova Southeastern University, Tampa values and encourages membership and involvement at the state and national level. Professional membership is important to the growth of occupational therapy as a profession. Active membership builds communities through networking, collaboration and advocacy. Students and faculty continue to maintain current mem- bership at the state, national and even international levels. Students and faculty have celebrated numerous presentations at state and national conferences. To date one student presented at the Texas Occupational Therapy Association, many students have presented at the Florida Occupational Therapy Association. In addition, one faculty member was accepted to present at the Texas Occupational Therapy Association, all faculty members have presented at the Florida Occupational Therapy Association and seven faculty members have presented either short courses or poster presentations at the American Occupational Therapy Association nearly every year since the program began.
