He is currently working on several book chapters in the areas of intellectual disability and sensory integration. In 2015 he embarked on a new project, which has lead him to pursue a second doctoral degree in the area of Information Technology and Dis- tance Education. Dr. Longpre: 2012-2016 Professor Longpré is now Dr. Longpré. Dr. Longpré is one of the founding members of the program and successfully defended her disser- tation this year. She has been instrumental in the setting several foundational aspects for the OTD Program. These include establishing Level I and II Field- work and Doctoral Residency . She has taught several classes throughout her time at the NSU OTD program and she has served as a guest lecturer and lab assistant for additional courses as well. Dr. Longpré works to remain involved in the occupational therapy community through service. She serves as secretary for FLOTEC and has had the oppor- tunity to mentor several practitioners and students regarding oncology care and occupational therapy. She has had the opportunity to publish, along with alumni Ni He-Strocchio in the Physical Disability Special Interest Section through the American Occupational Therapy As- sociation. In addition she has completed her first book chapter. In addition, she has reviewed ab- stracts for AOTA annually and also presented at state and national conferences. Dr. McCarthy: 2013-2016 Dr. McCarthy is the Director of the Student Affairs Committee, Admissions Committee and Marketing Committees within the OTD Program. Dr. McCarthy teaches OTD8103 Kinesiology in Occupations; OTD8281 Business of Practice and Management; OTD8273 Occupational Therapy Interventions III- Physical Disabilities and mentors several OTD research groups. During this time Dr. McCarthy has been prolific in his presentations, lec- tures and publications individually and in collaboration with others. Dr. McCarthy completed funded research with Miller, T., Blackinton, M., McCarthy, D.P . & Pennington, D. Can In-Patient Simulation Labs Pre- pare Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Students for In-Patient Environments? Health Professions Division Educational Research Grant Program, Nova Southeastern University, $10,000. March 2015-April 2016. Dr. McCarthy’s community and professional service includes participation as a member in the Leadership Committee: American Society on Aging’s Network on Environment, Services and Technology for Maximizing Independence (NEST) 2011 – present; and co-leader in the American Society on Aging’s Transportation Interest Group; 2011 – present.
