Bittner , O.D., Ph.D., FAAO (Dipl.), associate professor, was invited to serve as an associate topical editor for Optometry and Vision Science and had her article, “Variability and Errors of Manually Digitized Goldmann Visual Fields,” published in the journal. She also served as an expert reviewer for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Evidence-Based Practice Center Program report, “Retinal Prosthesis in the Medicare Popula- tion.” Additionally, she received a $15,000 research grant from Adaptive Sensory Technology for the study, “Test- Retest Variability of Quick Contrast Sensitivity Function Testing.” Jessica Steen , O.D., FAAO, instructor, published an article in the July 15 edition of Review of Optometry , “The Dilation Dilemma: Advances in Imaging Have Allowed for Greater Patient Convenience and Satisfaction. But Are They a Substitute for the Tried-and-True Practice of Dilation?” Leon Nehmad , O.D., M.S.W., FAAO, associate professor, was installed as secretary of the Broward County Optometric Association on May 14. Rachel A. (Stacey) Coulter , O.D., M.S.Ed. , FAAO, FCOVD, professor, served as a reviewer for the NIH Investigator Loan Repayment program in April. She was also chosen by the Research Committee of the Faculty of Medicine at the American University of Beirut as a distinguished expert to review research proposals for intramural funding. In addition, she coauthored the research paper, “Eye Examination Testability in Children with Autism and in Typical Peers,” in Optometry and Vision Science . She coauthored the article with colleagues Annette Bade , O.D., M.S., FAAO; Yin Tea , O.D., FAAO; Gregory Fecho , O.D.; and Jacqueline Rodena , O.D.
