We are commencing projects that have been planned for years and initiating new endeavors, which is why it is import- ant to continue this progress. Frederick Lippman, R.Ph. , Ed.D., who was appointed as NSU interim executive vice president and chief operating officer, and I have been working together for more than 20 years and will continue to work collaboratively on issues related to the Health Professions Division. As a result, we will continue to progress consistently at the HPD without disruption. NSU is on track to realize its potential as a major university, while at the HPD, new facilities are being constructed and planned. Expansion is in the works as we seek to better serve our students and faculty and staff members and meet the increasing needs of health care education in our community. We are continuing our focus on research and our work on the new College of Allopathic Medicine. Additionally, the HPD has made significant progress related to the new hospital and Academical Village that will be built on the Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus, and in achieving the goals outlined in Vision 2020. As we look to the future, we should recognize those who had the vision to plan and assemble the resources to get the Health Professions Division to its excel- lent state. They faced many challenges and had the determination to complete the task. I look forward to working with the HPD deans, faculty and staff members, and students to continue our progress.
