Bailee Schuhmann, Ph.D. (’22), who earned her doctorate in clinical psychology, is a licensed psychologist who serves as assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Erin Williams, M.S., LMHC (’19), who received her master’s degree in counseling, was promoted to lead therapist and charged with managing NSU interns and treating adults with anxiety, depres- sion, eating disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder at Rogers Behavioral Health in Tampa, Florida. DR. KIRAN C. PATEL COLLEGE OF ALLOPATHIC MEDICINE Parvir Anjla, M.D. (’22), is about to complete his gastroenterology residency training at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. ONE NSU MAGAZINE CLASS NOTES in psychology and master’s degree in counseling, received the 2024 Counselor of the Year Award from the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association. Alan Peterson, Ph.D. (’90), who earned his doctorate in clinical psychology, is a professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center—San Antonio. He is also the director of the South Texas Research Organizational Network Guiding Studies on Trauma and Resilience, also known as STRONG STAR, which was recently granted $17 million for eight individual studies. Toni Richardi, Psy.D., M.S.C.P. (’14), is an instructor for the University of Colorado Denver and Fairleigh Dickinson University’s master’s degree in psychopharmacology programs and continues running her virtual private practice. She has also taken on co-running one of two psychopharmacology examinations for psychologists’ study programs available to students who complete their Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology degree. Isadora Rocha De Abreu, B.S. (’22), who earned her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, was recently accepted to Yale University and the University of California—San Francisco. She is currently completing a post- baccalaureate fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. Zoe Ross-Nash, Psy.D. (’22), a licensed clinical psychologist, founded a training program called Equilibrium Health Advantage that helps fitness professionals to receive education on eating disorders and body inclusivity. This training has been provided internationally and domestically. RossNash is also a cohost of the eating disorder podcast On the Mic with ED and has been featured with the National Eating Disorders Association and the Eating Recovery Center for her advocacy efforts. Leonard Schnur, Psy.D., ABPP (’89), who received his doctorate in clinical psychology, serves as director of clinical services and chief psychologist at the NSU Health Psychology Services Center and as an associate clinical professor at NSU’s College of Psychology. 1991 The Institute for Systemic Therapy became the School of Social and Systemic Studies when degree programs in dispute resolution were added to existing programs in family therapy. 1992 The Leo Goodwin Sr. Hall, new home of the Shepard Broad Law Center, opened on the Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus, while Nova University’s first building—the Rosenthal Student Center—was expanded to include a dining hall, full kitchen, bookstore, and administrative offices. 1993 Southeastern University of the Health Sciences added the College of Allied Health and admitted its charter class in the Physician Assistant Program. A new wing housing the Bernice and Jack LaBonte Institute for Hearing, Language, and Speech was added to the Baudhuin Oral School. 1994 Southeastern University of the Health Sciences merged with Nova University to form Nova Southeastern University. The William and Norma Horvitz Administration Building was dedicated. 81
