ONE NSU MAGAZINE CLASS NOTES NOTABLE GRADUATES FROM NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY { } ABRAHAM S. FISCHLER COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND SCHOOL OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE Sheneka Blue, M.S. (’06), who earned her M.S. in Edu- cational Leadership, was named the 2025 Principal of the Year by Broward County Public Schools. David Borchardt, Ph.D. (’22), who earned his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, recently published the coauthored article “Questioning the Link Between Organizational Justice and External Procedural Justice in Police-Citizen Interactions” in the International Journal of Police Science and Management. He works for the Spring Independent School District Police Department in Houston, Texas. Alanka Brown, Ed.D. (’09), was named chief executive officer and dean at California College of ASU—a California affiliate of Arizona State University. Sarah Dobbs, M.S. (’16), was named Principal of the Year at the 35th Annual Golden Apple Gala held in Ocala, Florida. She serves as the principal at East Marion Elementary School in Silver Springs. Allen Edwards, Ed.D., M.A. (’23), who earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from NSU, was named chief academic officer for the Colquitt County School District in Moultrie, Georgia, which serves more than 8,500 students across 13 schools and 3 programs. Sam Ferguson, Ed.D., M.S. (’06), who earned his Master of Science in Sports Management from the college, is the new athletic director at The University of Texas—Tyler. He previously served as associate vice president and deputy athletic director at Abilene Christian University. Ashley Forbis, M.A. (’07), was named director of instruction and curriculum (grades six to eight) for the Clarksville- Montgomery County School System in Tennessee. She is also certified as an English as a second language teacher. 1964 Nova University opened offices on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and was chartered by the state of Florida as Nova University of Advanced Technology. 1965 The university received several gifts that enabled construction of the Louis Parker Physical Sciences Building and the Rosenthal Student Center.
