ONE NSU MAGAZINE As co-owners and creators of This Is Improv—a Davie, Florida-based improv theater, performance school, and corporate training enterprise, the sisters are dedicated to helping people “find their funny.” However, they are also committed to helping people “believe in the power of individuality and diversity as a means to strengthen the whole, or as we like to call it, the ensemble.” FOR ANGELICA AND ALEXANDRA ZADAK, IT’S ALL ABOUT THE ART OF THE AD-LIB. ECLECTIC UPBRINGING The sisters, who have extensive ties to Nova Southeastern University (NSU), credit their parents for immersing them in a childhood filled with various, interesting activities. “There was never a dull moment, because our mother was involved in the Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce,” they explained. “When we were kids, she’d bring us to all her meetings and give us a bag of grapes and a stack of coloring books to keep us occupied. We got to see people from around town get together and talk shop.” Their mother, Aimee SanchezZadak, Ed.D., M.S., has been an adjunct professor at NSU’s College of Psychology since 1997 and serves on the university’s Susie and Alan B. Levan Ambassadors Board. She also established Balloonatics, Inc.—a one-stop shop for corporate clients that provides balloons, printing, 55 Alexandra and Angelica Zadak (middle) on stage during a This Is Improv showcase.
