ONE NSU MAGAZINE thrill to bring back a formative classic from my childhood.” In 2022, Ilagan landed his current gig as vice president of game shows for Sony Pictures Television (SPT), where he works with the SPT team to develop and produce original shows, along with reboots and spinoffs of its classic titles. “SPT has a rich library of classic game show titles, including Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, The $100,000 Pyramid, The Newlywed Game, and The Joker’s Wild, among many others,” he said. “I’ve already had a chance to work with the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! teams, particularly on the primetime spinoffs on ABC,” he added. “We also launched a new show called Raid the Cage on CBS that we’ve already produced two seasons of with much success. And we have a robust slate of exciting projects we’ve been developing and pitching that we hope to get on the air in the next year.” Whenever he has a moment to reflect on the sweet life he’s living, Ilagan is quick to acknowledge that hard work, mixed with a dash of good fortune, can pave the way to surprisingly surreal success. “Every time I’m on set for Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy!, I think to myself, ‘Wait, these are the shows I remember watching with my family in my living room in Cooper City. And now, I’m part of them— and get to help shape how they look and play.’ I always remind myself to take a moment, step back, and appreciate it.” 37
