44 | Graduate Nursing DOCTOR OF NURSING PRACTICE TO DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN NURSING (D.N.P. TO PH.D.) D.N.P. TO PH.D. CURRICULUM PROGRAM OVERVIEW The D.N.P. to Ph.D. program is designed for nurses who have completed the D.N.P. de- gree through a school accredited by CCNE, ACEN, or NLNAC, and who have an interest to further their education to complete a Ph.D. with a focus on Nursing Education. The program begins in the winter semester, is six semesters (27 credits) of coursework followed by a minimum of three semesters (9 credits) of dissertation, and is a minimum of 36 credits. The classes are mostly online with two one-week Summer Institutes held at NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus.
