Student Health Services NSU provides confidential student health services through the Student Medical Center on the Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus. The center is staffed by board-certified or board-eligible physicians who provide primary care services including physical exams, women’s healthcare, immunizations, preventive care, general medical care, post-exposure prophylaxis, and minor surgical procedures. Appointments are available; however, walk-in patients are also welcome. To be seen, students must bring their NSU ID and insurance card. KPCOM students on the Tampa Bay Regional Campus can receive confidential student health services at any one of the 12 Evara Health locations through the Green Arrow Process, established specifically for the KPCOM. Students may call (727) 824-8189 and speak directly to an Evara Health representative to schedule their appointment. Students will need to provide a photo ID and insurance card upon check in. Students who are not geographically close to either KPCOM campus, may receive confidential student health services via telehealth through the NSU Student Medical Center. Students may call (954) 262-1262 to schedule a telehealth appointment. If calling outside of regular work hours, the call service operator will triage the call to determine if an on-call physician needs to call back or if an appointment can be scheduled. Otherwise, they may seek health services through their own insurance provider(s) or a local emergency room/urgent care center. 4. Student Behavioral/Mental Health Counseling Confidential counseling for KPCOM students is provided by the NSU Center for Student Counseling and Well-Being by Henderson Behavioral Health. KPCOM students can find the information on these services on the center’s web page at nova.edu/student-counseling or by calling (954) 262-7050. Services provided include treatment for anxiety, panic and depression; anger management; financial stress; social struggles; chronic illnesses; abuse; suicidal thoughts; break-ups and divorce; assault; and many other areas affecting a student’s quality of life. In addition to the office hours listed on the website, a crisis hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to give support and counseling by phone at (954) 424-6911. Additionally, all full- and part-time students receive 10 free sessions per year, plus the triage/screening session and the assessment. Students may use the HIPAA-compliant telehealth option. Students with NSU Student Health Insurance Plan can also receive behavioral health services through its telehealth benefit. Students who have opted out of the NSU Student Health Insurance Plan should utilize their primary insurance carrier’s behavioral health services if they decide not to utilize the services of the NSU Center for Student Counseling and Well-Being. Additionally, all KPCOM students have online access to Therapy Assistance Online (TAO). TAO is a fullservice, individualized mental health and wellness, support plan.
