We operate in the Pasco/Hernando HCA Market with Medical Center of Trinity, serving the growing areas of the south and Oakhill Hospital to our north. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has a long and illustrious history of providing the high- est level of critical medical care for our community. Founded in 1981, it was the first hospital to be built in North West Pasco County serving residents in Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus counties. Our reputation for providing compassionate and innovative care to those in need is built on the foundation of excellence in patient care. Our quality programs have continually been recognized for excellence by U.S. News and World Report , Thomson Reuters, UnitedHealth, and the Amer- ican Heart Association. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point’s nationally recognized Heart Institute, Accredited Stroke Center, Accredited Chest Pain Center, Commission on Cancer-approved cancer care, orthopedic, and neurosurgery programs are all examples of the high-quality results we produce while caring for our patients. We provide a full range of adult cardiac services, and our physicians are dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of heart disease. We provide comprehensive cardiac service and have performed over 100,000 procedures since opening our doors. The facility is cur- rently pursuing an 18-bed inpatient rehabilitation CON to incorporate into its mix. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has a significant presence in the communities we serve. Last year, 1,172 employees, 500 volunteers, and over 310 physicians touched the lives of 78,708 patients from 5 counties (Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, and Hillsborough). Through our emergency rooms and inpatient/outpatient programs, our patients reaped the ben- efits of our accredited programs. In 2012, we handled approximately 14,000 admissions and 40,000 ER visits. In February 2013, the Florida Department of Health awarded Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point full designation as a state Level II Trauma Center.
