NSU MILITARY AFFAIRS Veterans Resource Center (VRC) The mission of NSU’s centralized location includes the facilitation of academic success, supporting university and community engagement, professional development and, ultimately, graduation and career attainment. The VRC is located on the first floor of the Carl DeSantis Building. Military Affairs Academic Program (MAAP) NSU has identified premier academic programs that meet the career goals of veterans and military-affiliated personnel. Check for the most recent list of programs that allow students to maximize available education benefits and work with dedicated veteran advisers, among other benefits. Health Profession Scholarship Program (HPSP) Prospective military physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, optometrists, psychologists, and pharmacists may receive a paid medical education in exchange for service as a commissioned medical department officer. NSU Army ROTC As a member of the Southern Strike Army ROTC Battalion, an elective curriculum that may be taken along with your required college classes. It gives you the tools, training, and experience that will help you succeed in challenging environments, as well as the opportunity to compete for scholarships. As an elective, you can participate during your freshman and sophomore years without any obligation to join the Army. You will have a normal college student experience; but upon graduation, you will be commissioned as an officer in the Army.
