Community Collaboration/Outreach
• NSU is one of only 99 institutions that have been classified as a
University of “High Research” by the Carnegie Foundation for the
Advancement of Teaching.
• NSU is one of only 311 institutions nationwide (out of more than
4,000) classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a “Community
Engaged” University.
• NSU is one of only 37 institutions holding the dual classification of
“Community Engaged” and “High Research”.
• In FY2012, NSU students, faculty & staff participated in 1,669
different community-based projects, including clinical, community-
based research, professional, and fund-raising events to benefit our
community.
