4 | Dental Medicine PREPARE FOR A DYNAMIC CAREER At NSU’s College of Dental Medicine (CDM), students receive the education and training needed to develop into highly qualified practitioners capable of delivering comprehen- sive dental care to patients of all ages. Career opportunities are almost limitless. Students can • establish a solo practice in urban, suburban, or rural environments • join an existing practice • serve in the military • teach other dental students • find a niche in governmental agencies or dental organizations There also are advanced education options. Students can go on to specialize in such fields as endodontics, oral pathology, oral surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, or dental public health. Under the tutelage of NSU’s nationally recognized CDM faculty, students can take their places as leaders among oral health care providers. PURPOSE NSU-CDM aims to educate students to become competent in all phases of the general practice of dental medicine and postdoctoral residents to become proficient in their respective specialty fields. The college is committed to ensuring graduates’ excellence in the art and science of dental medicine and their dedication to independent, lifelong learning.
