College of Dental Medicine (CDM)—Predoctoral Program 2025–2026 113 progress designation will be entered on the student’s transcript for each course completed. If a student is on an administrative break in enrollment in which the break commences up to three weeks prior to the end of the semester, the student may receive a grade of withdrawal (W). If a student is on an administrative break in enrollment in which the break commences within the last three weeks of a semester, a designation of incomplete (I), earned grade, or F may be entered on the student’s transcript. If an administrative break in enrollment is approved by the dean and the student is currently not in good academic standing, is under review for a disciplinary action, or has a disciplinary action imposed, then the student may not be reinstated to the college without a review by the SPC. Upon completion of its review, the SPC will make a recommendation to the dean regarding whether to reinstate the student. If the student is denied reinstatement, the student’s status will be changed to either a withdrawal from the college or a dismissal. If a student is dismissed, the student may appeal such decision pursuant to the Dismissal section of this handbook. If appropriate, students may be reinstated with a disciplinary action imposed upon them at the beginning of their reinstatement for a stated period of time.
