Commencement Brochure 2016

ASSEMBLY & ROBING Candidates should plan to arrive when venue doors open, one hour prior to their ceremony start time and proceed to the second-floor RecPlex main assembly area. Articles of clothing that will be visible at the neck and below the gown should be in keeping with the conservative style of the academic attire. With that in mind, please do not wear tennis shoes/sneakers. Also, stiletto heels should be avoided as they can pose a personal safety risk when walking up and down steep stairs and standing for long periods of time. For master’s and educational specialist candidates, the hood should be secured so that it will not slip off the shoulders. The cap, which may need bobby pins to stay on your head, is worn parallel to the ground. PHOTOGRAPHY NSU Commencement ceremonies are professionally photographed. All candidates will be photographed at least twice, including the exact moment when each candidate shakes hands with the dean or president. Personal photographs may be taken only before and after the ceremony. Spectators are not permitted in the aisles or on the main floor during or after the ceremony.
