Commencement Event Guide 2019 | Nova Southeastern University of Florida

Welcome The time to celebrate your academic accomplishments is fast approaching. We look forward to hosting moments of shared joy with fellow graduates, friends, and faculty and family members at NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus. Please review this booklet as it contains important information regarding the 2019 NSU Commencement season, academic regalia, guest accommodations, and more. Let the countdown begin! ENTRY TIMES, SEATING, AND TICKETS Families, friends, and the general public are invited to attend NSU Commencement ceremonies. Tickets are not required, but seating in the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center (UC) is limited and on a first-come, first-seated basis. Large groups of guests wishing to sit together should arrive one hour prior to the published start time of the ceremony. Due to the size of the Rick Case Arena, and as a courtesy to all candidates and their guests, the saving of seats is strictly prohibited . Be aware that the arena doors will temporarily close to guests during the opening processional and the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner . The doors will reopen afterwards on a space-available basis. SIMULCAST LOCATIONS Guests can view a live telecast of the ceremony via closed-circuit television at three on-campus locations: the Flight Deck Pub, the Performance Theatre in the Don Taft University Center, and the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center, which is part of the Alvin Sherman Library. Seating is available on a first-come, first-seated basis. The sign language interpreter is visible on the live telecast screen, as the simulcast viewing is not closed captioned. Please note: The Flight Deck Pub offers a family-friendly environment conducive to guests with small children who may become restless during the ceremony. All NSU Commencement ceremonies are video streamed in real time. Visit /commencement and click on the “Commencement Ceremony Live” icon. A link to the archived video will be available via the commencement website approximately one week after the ceremony.
