The Federal Sentencing Guidelines outline federal penalties for trafficking in drugs. In addition to the federal sanctions, Florida State Statutes provide sanctions in regard to the use, possession, and/or sale of illicit drugs and the abuse of alcohol. Punishment varies depending upon the amount and type of drug and/or alcohol involved. Felony convictions range from one year to life imprisonment. Misdemeanor convictions range from less than 60 days to one-year imprisonment. For additional information, please refer to Chapters 316 and 893 of the Florida Statutes , or consult with a legal representative of your choosing. A.4 Health Policies NSU Student Health Insurance Requirement NSU requires all students to carry adequate health insurance coverage. Therefore, all NSU students will automatically be enrolled in the NSU Student Health Insurance Plan, and their student accounts will be charged when they register for classes. Students who reside and take classes outside of the United States are exempt from this requirement. Students who already have health insurance must opt out of the NSU Student Health Insurance Plan each academic year by the given waiver deadline
