Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation opened an off-site emergency room on NSU’s main campus in the University Park Plaza shopping center on May 18. The emergency room provides the surrounding community with immediate access to experienced, board-certified emergency room physicians and offers a full range of emergency care services for children and adults. In the future, the off-site emergency room will serve as a residency site offering valuable hands-on training to NSU medical students and various clinical training opportunities for students in other NSU health professions programs. Additionally, the facility includes a full-service laboratory, a pharmacy, and advanced imaging equipment that includes a 16-Slice CT, ultrasound, and two cutting-edge, digital X-ray units.
