2 | Nova Southeastern University Required coursework for the first year consists mainly of basic science classes taught in the Health Professions Division such as anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, and microbiology. The semester hour requirements in the second year are similar to the first year. The college reserves the right to vary these hours within reason. In addition, all students are required to attend a seminar course. The Master of Biomedical Sciences (M.B.S.) degree takes four semesters to complete. A minimum of 36 semester hours is required for completion of the program. A time limit of five calendar years from the date of matriculation is placed on coursework to be credited to the degree.
