Such evaluations and grades are the prerogative of the instructor and are not subject to formal appeal unless there is compelling evidence of discrimination, arbitrary or capricious action, and/or procedural irregularities. Grievances and grade disputes must be in writing and directed to the course instructor within five business days or prior to any retest. If unresolved, the dispute may be forwarded to the program director or department chair or designee of the chair within five business days. Failure to submit a timely appeal will be considered a waiver of the student’s grade dispute appeal rights. The appeal to the program director, department chair, or designee is the final appeal for all grade disputes.
