6 Nova Southeastern University Student Handbook Statement on Student Rights Nova Southeastern University, as a community of women and men, is committed to furthering scholarship, academic pursuits, and service to our society. As an institution, our purpose is to ensure all students an equal opportunity to fulfill their intellectual potential through pursuit of the highest standards of academic excellence. Nova Southeastern University students enjoy the right to learn, both within and outside of the classroom, in an environment that is free from discrimination based on the University Equal Opportunity/Nondiscrimination Policy included below. While it is not possible to address all eventualities, it is important that rights of Nova Southeastern students be embraced by the community and observed in the spirit of the university’s mission.
