Our CoARC Program Reference # is 200615. The Program is not accredited in polysomnography. Department of Health and Human Performance The Athletic Training Program (ATP) offers a Master of Science in Athletic Training (M.S.A.T.) degree with the first cohort enrolled in May 2018. This follows a mandate from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) that degree programs must be offered only at the Master’s degree level after fall 2022. The program is awaiting a decision from CAATE following submission of the substantive change of degree application in August 2017. Students will not be accepted into the existing B.S. program after the 2017–18 admissions cycle. NSU’s ATP, originally established in 2003, is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and is currently on a 10-year accreditation cycle through 2021. Athletic training students enrolled in the B.S. degree will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and will be eligible to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) examination. Students graduating from the M.S.A.T. program will be eligible for the BOC examination pending final approval from CAATE. The athletic training programs are designed to ensure that students who graduate from the program meet all requirements necessary to pass the BOC examination. Department of Health Science The degree programs in the department—Bachelor of Health Science (B.H.Sc.), Master of Health Science (M.H.Sc.), Doctor of Health Science (D.H.Sc.), and Ph.D. in Health Science—are established programs within the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences of Nova Southeastern University. The Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Sonography at the NSU Tampa Campus is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT). Graduates are eligible to apply for the national registry examinations in both Adult Echocardiography and Vascular Technology as offered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), and/or the corresponding credentials offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Department of Occupational Therapy The Master of Occupational Therapy Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE ® ) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 4720 Montgomery Lane, Suite 200, Bethesda, MD 20814-3449. Graduates of the program will be eligible to take the national certification examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this examination, the individual will become a registered occupational therapist (OTR). Most states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the examination for occupational therapists administered by the NBCOT.
