14 NSU CAHSS Dialogues Department of History and Political Science Valentine’s Day Lunch with DHPS The Department of History and Political Science hosted a Valentine’s Day lunch on February 14 in the Alvin Sherman Library to recognize the student organizations in the department. Students from the Mock Trial Team, Nova International Relations Association and Model United Nations Team, Phi Alpha Delta, Pi Sigma Alpha, and the Undergraduate-Graduate Leadership Council met with other DHPS students and faculty members to share a little love. More than 30 students and faculty and staff members attended. What does it take to join an elite team that protects the American people and upholds the U.S. Constitution? On March 26, the Department of History and Political Science (DHPS) joined with the Career Development Office for “The FBI Experience” to find out. More than 40 undergraduate and graduate students traveled to the FBI’s Miami Field Office The FBI Experience: Site Visit and received a behind-the-scenes tour from professionals within the organization. Eighteen DHPS students learned about the required skills and qualities needed by applicants interested in becoming agents or many other less well- known, but vital, positions in the agency.
